Grafting Macadamia Trees

All macadamia trees grown in Neno are selected clones of Macadamia Integrefolia.

Which have been grafted onto macadamia seedlings. The clonal shoots are attached to the young tree using an approach graft. This is done when the plant is about a year old.

After grafting, the trees are kept in a nursery for a further six to twelve months, before being planted out into a village garden or an orchard.
